The Toggler Anchor Kit is a grab bar mounting anchor designed specifically to install grab bars into hollow walls, rather than directly into the wood studs. If you are installing grab bars into a hollow wall rather than into wood studs, this is your best and least expensive solution.

Note: Though Toggler’s can hold hundreds of pounds, they are not as strong as mounting the grab bar directly into solid wood studs. If you can locate the studs (although sometimes difficult through ceramic tile or heavy plaster, even with a “stud finder”), try to attach at least one end of the grab bar to this wood stud. However, if you are unable to do so, this product will cover your installation into hollow walls sufficiently.

Features:

  • Includes 4 Toggler brand Snap Toggle bolts and installation instructions.
  • Provides secure wall attachment into hollow wall when no stud is available.
  • Pre-assembled and ready for immediate use.
  • The anchor can be pre-installed without using a bolt and won’t fall behind the wall when the bolt is removed.
  • The anchors will not damage or break through the wall, even under vibration.
  • Automatically adjusts to wall thickness.
  • Only requires a 1/2″ hole for installation (requires 1/2″ drill bit diameter, not included).
  • Carries twice the load of traditional wing anchors.
  • Wings snap off flush to the surface.
  • Can use a screw gun – anchor does not spin.
  • Save money – turn a 2-person job into a 1-person job.

Specifications:

  • Channel: Yellow zinc-plated cold rolled steel or 304 stainless steel
  • Straps & Handle: High impact polystyrene
  • Cap/Hat: Translucent polypropylene co-polymer

Each Kit Contains:

  • (4) Togglers
  • (4) Bolts

# Kits Required Per Grab Bar:

  • For each grab bar, you should purchase 1 kit (each has 4 togglers). Most grab bars have 2 flanges, and each flange requires 2 togglers.
  • If you have 3 grab bar flange mounting points, then you would need to buy 2 kits.

Installation:

  1. Drill appropriate size hole. Hold metal channel flat alongside plastic straps & slide channel through the hole. Minimum clearance behind wall: only 1-7/8”
  2. Hold ends of straps together between thumb & forefinger and pull toward you until channel rests behind wall. Ratchet cap along straps with other hand until flange of cap is flush with wall.
  3. Place thumb between straps at wall. Push thumb side to side, snapping off straps level with flange of cap.
  4. Place grab bar over flange. Insert bolt and tighten until snug against item, then stop. Use bolt to match thread in metal channel.

Important Feedback / Reviews from Satisfied Installers (A Must Read):

“A very good grab bar fastening system! Use a quality 1/2 drill and you will have no issues. SS is not needed imo as it’s behind the wall and I always use a fan of caulk when installing bars, just be sure to use SS screws so they won’t rust.”

“I recommend watching one of several youtube videos to understand how they work. What I found to work best was to not push the anchor much deeper than the drywall thickness and then gently rotate and pull back until the anchor was perpendicular to the wall (the back plastic toggle cut off piece will be even on either side. It’s not hard to do just don’t pull hard to avoid breaking the plastic toggles.”

“I tried another cheaper brand from Home Depot before and it kept breaking while I tried to cinch it up. These, on the other hand, do not break nearly as easily. I’ve got those metal studs so I have to use these when wall-mounting anything substantial, so you can believe I have good experience with these toggle bolts. I use these religiously now. And I’ll only stick with this brand.”

“This is a great product! Drill a half-inch hole. Slide the toggle thru the hole and then slide the coller down the tabs until it fits snugly into the hole. Then you break off the tabs and you are done. Easy peasy. Well made and supports more weight than the old fashioned toggle bolts. A word of caution: buy a few extra because it’s possible to mess up the process if it’s your first time. We needed 5 for 4 holes.”

“They do what they say…the install/insert is easy. Zipping them into place is really nice…always feels firm and snug. I really like these as anchors for anything I’m doing. So solid, just amazing!”

“For the longest time I used wall anchors you could just hammer into the wall without drilling first. Once I tried these I never turned back. You have to drill a pilot hole but they are unbelievably strong and easy to install”

“I recently completed a grab bar project in a commercial building that required the use of toggle bolts. The traditional toggle seemed like it was slow me down so I opted for these. I could drill out a row of holes, pop these in and then test fit my pieces, which traditional toggles won’t let you do. Not a single issue during the install. Every bolt lined up with the thread and zero issues with the plastic breaking before I wanted it to. These will definitely be my go-to for this type of application.”

“These Toggler SnapToggles are the best for putting up grab bars, shelves and anything else that you may have used the old spring style toggle bolts for. Much heavier duty than plastic anchors. Highly recommend!”

“Easy to use just take your time and push plastic cap tight to the wall before breaking off excess.”

“This is what you need for putting grab bars in when you can’t find studs or studs are t in range. Now I had a couple that didn’t cinch down very well, probably user error. I just cut those off and started again. I suggest buying 20% more than you’ll need. Cheap and strong but some will not cinch down.”
