Typically, you will need at least 3 grab bars in your shower. The number of grab bars you need to install varies depending on the type of shower it is and if it’s a residential or a commercial shower.
For residential bathrooms and showers, the amount of grab bars you install and where you install them is completely up to you based on your personal preference.
For commercial bathrooms and showers, you are required by law to abide by ADA regulations which specify a certain amount of grab bars and particular placements in the shower.
For basic slip prevention in a shower, at a minimum, we recommend 2 grab bars in the following shower wall locations:
